Adam Reynolds injury: Brisbane Broncos halfback suffers ruptured biceps

Silence fell over Suncorp Stadium on Friday night when Reynolds was withdrawn early in the second half.

The veteran halfback ruptured his biceps after attempting to make a tackle, immediately dropping to his knees and signalling for help from the Broncos’ trainers.

He pointed directly to his biceps and continued to support the affected area as he walked back to the sheds.

“It looks like it has come off the bone,” Fox Sports sideline commentator Corey Parker initially reported.

Jamal Fogarty notably ruptured his biceps in Round 7 and will be out for 12-14 weeks after undergoing surgery.

Speaking after the match, Broncos coach Kevin Walters admitted there was a chance Reynolds was done for the season, and that they will need to wait until after he has surgery to establish a timeline.

“Not looking too good for him… he’s got a torn biceps, so I guess he will have to have surgery and he will be out for substantial period,” Walters said.

“Potentially [season-ending]. Until they get in there and operate, I guess they don’t know.”

According to NRL Physio, a similar three-month stint on the sideline is likely.

Reynolds ruptured the biceps tendon near his elbow, so surgery will be required.
