Bukar Usman folktale said I don’t write to make money
“Bukar, the moment you publish a book, your rights end,” Cairo University once told me.
You don’t need my permission to work on the books; this is what I desire. I did not create them with the intention of making money; if I do want to invest, I know where and how.
I wrote the works with public education in mind (p. 388). Dr. Usman has generously made A History of Biu, which took the author more than eight years to complete, freely available to a large number of readers, scholars, researchers, and institutions.
