LeBron James’ reaction to JJ Redick’s appointment as Lakers coach is different to…

He replaces Darvin Ham, who got fired after losing to the Denver Nuggets in the playoffs, despite the fact he has never been a coach at professional level – having worked as an analyst since his pro career finished.

“I am incredibly humbled to join the Los Angeles Lakers, one of the most iconic and successful sports franchises in the world,” Redick said. “I am excited to surround myself with a veteran, innovative staff as we work relentlessly to develop individual players and maximize the team’s potential.

James, 39, had reportedly spent months pushing Redick in the direction of the Los Angeles Lakers, so it is strange to see that the NBA icon’s own wife has reacted to the news of his appointment before LeBron did.

LeBron’s wife Savannah took to social media to ‘like’ the post announcing Redick, which is more than her NBA star husband managed. He is yet to post anything on social media accounts, which only adds to speculation regarding his future, which remains up in the air as he approaches his 40th birthday

Before securing his new position, Redick and James had co-hosted the ‘Mind the Game’ podcast, which proved popular with basketball fans for its detailed analysis and tactical breakdowns.

However, it seems Redick has decided to press pause on the podcast while he navigates his first months in the NBA coaching circle.

“For the time being, and hopefully it’s a very, very long time, I am excommunicated from the content space,” Redick said in his press conference on Monday. “There will be no podcasts.
