REPORTS: Tennessee are set to part ways with the $130 million mega Star…..

Tennessee basketball announced a home-and-home series with Louisville on Thursday afternoon that will begin later this year.

The Vols will travel to Louisville, Ky. this November to face the Cardinals early in the 2024-25 season. The two teams will square off at the KFC Yum! Center on Saturday, Nov. 9, the same day Tennessee’s football team is set to host Mississippi State.

Louisville will make the return trip to Knoxville the following year for the 2025-26 season. The Vols will host the Cardinals inside of Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center on Dec. 16, 2025.

Tennessee is also scheduled to play a road game at Illinois and a neutral-site game against Miami at Madison Square in New York City, as part of the 2024-25 non-conference schedule. Both games will be played in December. UT will also play two games in the Baha Mar Hoops Tournament down in the Bahamas to begin Thanksgiving week. It’s a four-team even that also includes Baylor, St. John’s and Virginia.

Louisville is entering its first season under new head coach Pat Kelsey, who went 75-27 over the past three years at the College of Charleston.

The SEC announced Tennessee’s conference opponents for the 2024-25 season on May 13, as Texas and Oklahoma prepare for its debut season in the league.

Conference play begins Jan. 4 and runs through March 8. Each SEC team plays the other 15 teams at least once during league play. Schools will have three opponents twice on their schedule, two of which are permanent opponents and one that will change each year.
