Kaylan Makan to Transfer to Tennessee

In an ultra-busy offseason for the Tennessee Volunteers, they landed Citadel transfer Kaylan Makan.

TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS

Former Citadel Bulldog Kaylan Makan committed to the Volunteers on Monday after one season with his former team. Makan will be a sophomore next season. In his 2022-23 season with The Citadel, Makan averaged just 0.5 rebounds per game. He does not have a great sample size of playing time to look at from this past year, as he also averaged just 2.5 minutes a game.

In fact, the only two games Makan appeared in this season were a game against Morris College at the beginning of the season and a SOCON tournament matchup against Mercer. The Citadel lost that game 66-41, which ended their season.

Makan does become Tennessee’s fourth landed transfer over the last week, including the announced return of Santiago Vescovi. He is an interesting guard prospect at 6 feet and 2 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds. It is yet another large-sized guard who gets physical on the floor. This, as said before, is exactly head coach Rick Barnes’ type of player he wants in the Vols program.
